| In a previous
clinical case (2001545)
it was shown a comprehensive gallery of MRI pictures
of a giant hepatic hemangioma. One can clearly
see how the mass is filled (like a sponge) from
the periphery to the inner. In this particular
case, the inner part of the tumor has not changed
its signal, due to the previous necrosis, that
led to the formation of a niche without internal
vascularization.
March’s image of the month consists actually
of two pictures of the same case: the first one
shows the histology of the tumor. Large vascular
lumen are shown.
The second was taken during surgery. The transition
between the healthy tissue and the tumor is very
clear.
The resection was complete and surgery was successfull.
We plan to add the complete set of surgical images
as soon as possible.
Check it out soon, do not miss them!
